Custom Team Collage – Strikers
One of the questions we get is how and why did we start creating custom commemorative collages for teams and coaches? This company started after years of becoming tired of the normal coaches gift that had a lot of heart felt meaning, but little shelf life when the next typical gift came the next season. How many signed balls can a coach put on a shelf? How many plaques can he put in his office? Eventually, they all end up in a cardboard box in the closet or attic. Sure, they appreciate the sentiment, but the names and faces can start to run together over time. We wanted a way to celebrate the season, while providing a unique, one-of-a-kind gift the coach would always want to have on display.
While our first team collage left a little to be desired in design and composition, it was still a big hit with the coaches. To this day, the head coach still has his framed and matted team collage proudly displayed in his office. Sure, we have tried to give him money to get a “redo” to update the design, but so for he has only declined 🙂
We also learned the hard way that not only do coaches appreciate a really cool team collage, but the players like them also. After one of our first personalized team collage was presented to the coaching staff, a young player tapped us on the shoulder to ask, “Where is mine? Can I have one?” Nobody wants to see a sad faced little player without one, so we started recommending them for player gifts as well. It didn’t stop there.
A couple of team parties later after delivering custom team colored collages to the coaches and players, we had a parent stop us to ask “Hey, can I get one of those for my office?” Nobody wants to see a sad faced little parent, so we started reminding the team mom to ask all the parents. That way they could have their own copy and not just have to enjoy the one in their kids room (or worse try to “borrow” it without permission) 🙂
